Budget Analyst Junior Washington, DC Pay From: $25 per hour MUST: The Junior Financial Budget Analyst must have experience: 1+ years of Financial/Budget Analyst experience Must have experience using project accounting software Must have advanced experience using Microsoft Excel and planning tools Must have experience in a variety of financial, budgeting and spreadsheet software applications Must have the ability to recognize trends in data and properly interpret statistics Must have the ability to solve complex equations during analysis Must have proven analytical and financial modeling skills Must have the ability to utilize critical thinking to determine possible outcomes for various financial forecasting and budgeting choices Must have good communication skills and demonstrated ability to translate financial concepts to non-financial staff DUTIES: Tracks and analyzes revenue and expenditures to identify trends, variances, and potential budget shortfalls Serves as a financial liaison to program teams, providing day-to-day support and guidance to project managers Supports the Director of Finance in leveraging accounting system budgeting and reporting tools; trains project managers and staff on system use and financial processes Analyzes historical and current financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis Prepare financial reports and contributes to forecasting activities as directed by the Director of Finance Collaborates with the Director of Finance and department managers to develop organizational budgets Reviews budget submissions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements Monitors spending throughout the year ensuring alignment with approved budget categories and provide periodic reporting and updates Assists the Director of Finance in preparing budgets for government, foundation, and commercial proposals Coordinates with internal departments to gather required information and maintain proposal budgeting tools and templates Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
