Programmer Analyst III - Payer Experience

Programmer Analyst III (Payer Experience) plays a key role in developing, testing, and maintaining complex software applications that support healthcare payer operations. This position focuses on healthcare data analysis, SQL database development, and system integrations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, experience with claims and payer data, and a solid understanding of HIPAA and valuebased care programs.

As a Programmer Analyst III, you'll:

Technical Development



  • Design, develop, test, and debug complex software systems.
  • Develop/ support ETL processes to support claims and payer data workflows.
  • Build and maintain backend services, API integrations (REST/SOAP), and databasedriven applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with CMMC or SSPs is a plus, though not mandatory.


SQL & Database Engineering



  • Apply advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills (TSQL, SSIS, SSRS) for data modeling, ETL development, and performance tuning.
  • Optimize SQL queries and ensure data accuracy, integrity, and scalability.


Payer Domain Expertise



  • Analyze, interpret, and process healthcare payer data, including claims, enrollment, and provider information.
  • Support PayforPerformance (P4P), valuebased care, and other payer incentive programs.


System Analysis & Optimization



  • Conduct indepth analysis of existing systems to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, reliability, and security.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to support evolving business needs.


Leadership & Mentorship



  • Lead technical components of projects and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
  • Provide guidance to junior analysts and conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.


Experience



  • Typically 3-5+ years of fulltime experience in programming and systems analysis.
  • Experience in health plan, public health, or insurance environments strongly preferred.


Education



  • Bachelor's Degree


Technical Skills



  • Seniorlevel proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server (TSQL, SSIS, SSRS).
  • Strong programming skills in C#/.NET and familiarity with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with ETL development, API integrations, and datadriven application design, preferred but not mandatory.


Regulatory Knowledge



  • Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data security standards.



Salary Range: Minimum 37.14/hour - Maximum 65.01/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
