Career Planning and Resources (CP&R) engages, educates, and empowers students through personalized career counseling, skill-building, experiential learning, and modern resources.

About the role:
The Director of Career Planning & Resources (CP&R) oversees all general operations of the Scripps Career center, including strategic planning, program development, staff supervision, and external relations for career services for students and alumnae at Scripps College. This position is in the External Relations and Institutional Advancement (ERIA) division and reports to the Assistant Vice President of Institutional Engagement.
Annual hiring range: $100,000-$115,000
Essential Duties:
    Strategic planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to align the team's activities with institutional goals and evolving student needs.
  • Program development: Direct planning and implementation of innovative and forward-thinking signature programs to serve a diverse array of students and alumnae.
  • Staff development: Manage administration, supervision and training of staff, and evaluation of departmental programs and services.
  • Data and reporting: Lead efforts to collect, measure, and assess data around student and alumnae outcomes, in partnership with ERIA leadership and the Director of Institutional Research. Compile reports on program outcomes and contribute to collaborative work on College ROI and graduate outcomes.
  • Partner with Institutional Engagement on strategic engagement of parents and alumnae as volunteers with CP&R.
  • Represent CP&R in with external vendors and organizational partners on behalf of the College.
  • Elevate the CP&R brand through oversite of online content, social media platforms, print publications, and professionalism at CP&R events. Help influence a culture of volunteerism and philanthropy among college constituents.
  • Collaborate with career service directors of the Claremont Colleges on cooperative projects and programs; serve on other campus committees as needed.
  • Support counseling services by providing workshops and career counseling for students and alums.
  • Active support for the College's Principles of Community and Institutional Values in the performance of job duties.
What we would like to see from you:
  • Master's degree in counseling, higher education or related field preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • At least five years of experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Experience in program development, presenting workshops, marketing, external relations, writing, research, data analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Supervisory experience, managing, motivating, and overseeing multiple team members.
  • Experience in career development and counseling work. Knowledge and understanding of the unique mission of a residential liberal arts education.
  • Candidate should possess a commitment to women's education and an interest in working in a collaborative, supportive, and creative environment.
