As the full-time Operations Lead at New Era's soon-to-open NYC Flagship Store in SoHo, you will ensure the back-end of the store operates seamlessly, from inventory process to security protocols, so the team can focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for operations, balancing keyholder responsibilities with a focus on maintaining the operational excellence that defines New Era.

Responsibilities

  • Store Operations:
    • Oversee daily operational tasks, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, and stockroom organization
    • Execute store opening and closing procedures, including activating/deactivating alarms and performing end-of-day cash reconciliation
    • Perform regular store maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning, to maintain a welcoming store environment
    • Maintain productivity and performance expectations as outlined by store leadership
    • Support in-store initiatives related to brand activations, community events, and high-traffic retail operations
  • Inventory & Stockroom Support:
    • Lead inventory counts and assist in replenishment to maintain accurate stock levels and prevent shrink
    • Ensure stockroom is organized and accessible, supporting efficient restocking and product location
    • Assist with merchandising updates, product launches and floor set execution
  • Team & Store Support
    • Assist the leadership team in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized store environment by delegating and performing maintenance tasks as needed
    • Provide guidance to team members to ensure adherence to operational standards
    • Collaborate with store leadership to align operational priorities with the store's sales goals and customer needs
  • Compliance & Policy Adherence:
    • Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
    • Maintain compliance with New Era Cap timekeeping, attendance, and scheduling policies
    • Adhere to loss prevention, safety and security guidelines
  • Works collaboratively with the store team and may step in to support other functions and areas of the store as needed to meet customer and operational needs
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Operational Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of inventory management, shipping/receiving processes, and loss prevention protocols
    • Experience with cash handling, including end-of-day reconciliation and maintaining cash flow accuracy
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Ability to lead and train team members on operational processes and ensure consistent execution
    • Effective communicator who can collaborate with leadership and team members to address operational needs
  • Physical & Organizational Abilities:
    • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including climbing ladders, walking up and down stairs, bending, squatting, kneeling and lifting of carrying up to 50 lbs
    • Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods of time
    • Ability to safely operate store equipment, including Heat Seal, Hat Blocking Machine and pallet jacks
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Teamwork & Flexibility:
    • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with the Store Manager and team members to achieve goals
    • Willingness to take on a variety of tasks and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
    • Support a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of four (4) years of retail operations supervisor experience with previous keyholder experience preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and operational protocols
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Upon opening on March 16, 2026, the retail store will operate Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note that store hours may be adjusted based on business needs, including customer demand and in-store events

Travel Requirement

  • The location for this position is 100% on-site in New York, NY
  • 0% to 5%; domestic and/or global

The hourly rate for this posted position is $22.00 per hour and pertains to candidates located in New York City. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
