What you'll do



  • Support and implement Hopkins clinical research protocols on an inpatient unit, working closely with principal investigators, research coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide general Med/Surg nursing care: assess patients, administer medications and study treatments, monitor clinical status, and deliver nursing interventions as needed.
  • Ensure safe, compliant conduct of research activities at the bedside-maintain accurate documentation, adhere to protocol requirements, and assist with data collection.
  • Educate and support patients and families about study procedures, risks/benefits, and care during participation in clinical trials.
  • Collaborate in the review and refinement of new protocols from a bedside nursing perspective, helping ensure feasibility and patient-centered implementation.


What we're looking for



  • BSN preferred; Applicants with an Associate Degree in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate to Bachelors of Nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure (Maryland or compact state) and BLS certification required at time of hire.
  • 1-year Med/Surg nursing experience; prior research nursing experience a plus but not required-training and support will be provided.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow protocol-driven procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with research teams, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and research integrity.

Shift: Per diem - minimum of 2 12-hour shifts in 6-week schedule and able to rotate days and nights

Salary Range: Minimum 51.52/hour - Maximum 51.52/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
