Senior Accounting Associate I - JLL

Location: Dallas, TX (3 days on-site required)

What this job involves:

Join our Client Accounting Services team in Dallas, TX as a Senior Accounting Associate I, where you'll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional financial management services to our diverse client portfolio.

This position combines complex accounting responsibilities with client relationship management, managing full-cycle accounting for a 4-6 property portfolio while ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting that meets stringent client requirements. You'll serve as a trusted financial partner, supporting property teams and clients while contributing to JLL's reputation for excellence in real estate financial services.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and quarterly property financial statements for your assigned 4-6 property portfolio, ensuring all client deadlines are consistently met
  • Execute comprehensive financial reporting processes including journal entries, financial statement preparation, and bank reconciliations while maintaining strict adherence to internal controls and client specifications
  • Serve as the primary accounting resource for on-site property teams, coordinating procedures, resolving accounting inquiries, and responding promptly to client questions and requests
  • Oversee critical financial processes including bank reconciliations, cash management for loan servicing, disbursement processing, and external reporting requirements
  • Manage accounts payable workflows by reviewing invoice coding and approvals while ensuring full compliance with established internal controls and client procedures
  • Support annual budget preparation by compiling key assumptions and capital budget information, conducting reasonableness reviews, and ensuring accurate system entry
  • Lead year-end reconciliation processes, including preparation, calculation, and review of adjustments while ensuring timely and accurate billing per lease requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with property teams and client relationship management
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively, work successfully under pressure, and prioritize workload to consistently meet client deadlines
  • Adaptability and flexibility to maintain effectiveness across varying environments, tasks, and client requirements
  • Results-driven mindset with demonstrated ability to exceed goals and maintain a bottom-line orientation in all activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, with real estate industry experience highly preferred
  • Experience with real estate-specific software platforms, particularly MRI or Yardi property management systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access for database management and advanced reporting capabilities
  • Previous experience in client services or external reporting environments
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate lease structures and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience with audit coordination and working with external auditing firms *
  • Background in budget preparation and financial planning processes
