Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for obtaining and maintaining security clearances for facilities and employees. Responsible for compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Vocational or other post-high school training.

Training and Experience: Two (2) years' experience in automated information systems security and program security. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance is required.

General Skills: Must be able to prioritize tasks, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, handle multiple tasks, coordinate and plan projects, detail oriented and flexible with work assignments.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Security Clearance: Current or able to obtain a security clearance of "Top Secret" or above.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Performs daily security related tasks of the Special Security Representative (SSR) and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) roles for the Holloman FTU.
  • Provide comprehensive security guidance and recommendations to the FTU staff in support of program requirements, across traditional and non-traditional security disciplines to include, but not limited to: Operational Security (OPSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) and Physical/Facility Security.
  • Provide tailored, embedded security support the Holloman FTU's Secure Facilities (Bldg. 319 & future Bldg. 205).
  • Manage daily access to secure facilities.
  • Develop and coordinate all authorization documentation
  • Implement security controls, monitor system security posture, audit user activity, and maintain and update documentation.
  • Work with system administrators to validate patching, system hardening, and compliance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software for multiple information systems.
  • Perform security audits in accordance with established procedures.
  • Take corrective action to resolve problems identified and ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in all phases of the security authorization process for assigned information systems.
  • Perform self-inspections, provide security coordination, and review all system test plans.
  • Assess the impacts on system modifications and technological advances.
  • Review systems to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes, and document upgrade.
  • Provide life-cycle protection and security risk management for assigned facilities.
  • Apply information system security principles, procedures, and practices.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
