Lead Assembly Technician - Contingent Upon Contract Award Company Overview Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Lead Assembly Technician to drive daily production execution, ensure quality workmanship, and support on-time delivery of mission-critical unmanned systems. What You'll Do * Lead daily production activities within the assembly department to meet build schedules. * Assign work tasks and balance workloads across technicians. * Ensure adherence to production schedules and escalate risks to leadership. * Train and mentor assembly technicians on IPC standards, workmanship, and safety. * Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical guidance during builds. * Ensure compliance with IPC J-STD-001 standards and internal quality requirements. * Promote OSHA safety compliance and a strong safety culture on the production floor. * Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve build issues. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce rework. * Maintain accurate production documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives. * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. Requirements * 3-5 years of experience in electronic or electromechanical assembly manufacturing. * Experience leading daily production activities or serving in a senior technician capacity. * Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions. * Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment. * Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple build priorities. * Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume production environment Preferred * Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or unmanned systems manufacturing. * Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices. * Prior experience in a production leadership or team lead role. * Active IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certification. * OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Work Environment This position typically operates in a standard office setting and manufacturing environment. This role requires use of standard office equipment and may involve exposure to equipment, tools, machinery, hazardous chemicals, or materials relevant to the role. This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and non-climate-controlled environments. May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the environment. This is a fast-paced work environment and requires cross departmental collaboration with independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard works hours for this position are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with occasional overtime as operational needs demand.
