This is an excellent opportunity for a Grant Writer (40 hours/week) at our Milwaukee, WI Administrative Offices.

PPWI's compensation philosophy is rooted in equity. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's applicable experience and internal equity. The Grant Writer pay starts from $26.03 per hour.
Additional $ 1.50 per hour for bilingual (English/Spanish)
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Grant Writer is responsible for developing, preparing, and submitting highquality grant proposals
that advance the organization's mission and strategic priorities. Additionally, they are responsible for research and identification of institutional funding opportunities. Through internal partnerships and collaboration, they will ensure reporting and compliance requirements are fulfilled. This role plays a key part in sustaining and expanding the organization's revenue through clear, persuasive, and missionaligned written materials.

- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices of grant proposal creation and grants management.

- Experience in Microsoft 365 required, with experience in Raiser's Edge (NXT) or another relational database software preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree required in English, Communications, Business Management, or related.
Three years of fundraising, grant writing, grant management or related experience required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position is predominantly sedentary requiring the ability to sit, bend, stand and walk. May require occasional stooping, reaching, stair-climbing and repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard. Rarely requires kneeling, pushing/pulling and repetitive motions of the feet.
Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling and grasping regularly. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is generally performed in an office environment but involves frequent interruptions. The noise level is generally low. The work environmental characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grant Proposal Development & Writing:
  • Responsible for coordinating the grant-writing process-including drafting and editing proposals, gathering necessary data, securing approvals, andsubmittingmaterials-while ensuring effective stewardship of funders.
Funding Research & Opportunity Identification:
  • Researches funding opportunities and collects data, study findings, and organizational information to support proposals.
Grants Management, Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensures compliance with funder guidelines, maintains the grants calendar, and keeping accurate records in Instrumental Grant Management Software and other systems.
  • Overseesthe full lifecycle of grant funding as assigned, ensures compliance with grant terms,reports,tracks deliverables, and collaborates withcompliance,finance,and program teams on reporting and budget management.
  • Maintainssystems to track grant deadlines, obligations, and renewals, ensures proactive engagement with assigned funders.
  • Reviews, manages and tracks allgrant agreements and contracts for assigned grants and funders.
CrossTeam Collaboration & Organizational Support:
  • Collaborates with program, finance, development, and PPWI staff to gather information, articulate impact, manage an organizational language library, and participate in planning efforts.
Other Duties:
  • Support the success of the development team, by contributing to the planning and implementation of overall development goals, strategies, and activities relating to the identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of government, foundation, and corporate donors and prospects.
