SQL/.NET/C# Application Support Engineer

Top-Secret clearance required

Technical expertise in C# and .NET framework (or similar object-oriented programming languages).

Hands-on experience and strong proficiency with SQL Server, including advanced query writing, performance tuning, data validation, and administration tasks.

Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.

Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Azure Data Factory for ETL and data workflows.

Database and application migration to AWS and/or Azure

Demonstrated ability to debug complex issues spanning application code, databases, and underlying systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of identifying root causes quickly.

Familiarity with production-level application support, change management, and operational workflows.

Working knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory functionalities (users, groups, permissions, authentication).

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across teams.

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering required

DUTIES

The role requires strong technical expertise in SQL Server environments, C#/.NET application support, and related technologies to ensure system reliability, performance, and security for mission-critical operations.

Critical hands-on role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance internal business systems and applications while developing new solutions to meet evolving mission requirements.

Working across database administration, application development/support, and IT operations in a production environment.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing C#/.NET applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Diagnose and resolve production application issues across code, database, and system layers to minimize downtime and impact on operations.

Analyze legacy codebases to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and modernize workflows where appropriate.

Address bugs, enhance application workflows, and streamline business processes through targeted code and configuration changes.

Write, execute, and validate complex SQL queries in SQL Server environments; perform data validation and integrity checks.

Support and enhance internal tools developed on PHP frameworks as needed.

Manage ETL processes using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and related technologies; support data integration and transformation tasks.

Utilize SQL Server BI stack (SSRS for reporting, SSAS for analysis, etc.) and related tools to support data-driven decision-making.

Ensure all application changes follow formal review, testing, and deployment processes to maintain system stability.

Assist in troubleshooting environment-level issues (servers, networks, permissions) that affect application performance.

Provide operational support for Windows Server and Active Directory tasks related to application access, authentication, and configuration.

Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the team's knowledge base for system operations, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.

Collaborate effectively with internal users, developers, and technical teams to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
