Work Schedule:
100% FTE; Day Shift. Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Provide security staff with the skills to detect potential threats and implement effective workplace safety interventions.

We are seeking a Workplace Violence Prevention Consultant to:

  • Implement workplace violence prevention programs with a focus on evidence based de escalation strategies for both clinical and non clinical healthcare employees.
  • Deliver specialized training for security personnel, including advanced de escalation techniques, conflict resolution skills, and appropriate use of control and intervention strategies.
  • Develop, update, and manage training materials-presentations, handouts, e learning modules, and job aids-to support continuous workforce education.
  • Conduct incident debriefings following workplace violence events and create actionable improvement plans to enhance future responses.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance are integrated into prevention initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee, presenting data, program activities, progress updates, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Education, or related field. Required
  • Master's Degree in relevant subject area. Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3 years Experience in violence prevention, de-escalation, crisis management, or a related field within a healthcare setting. Required
  • Experience in training program development and facilitation, preferably in workplace violence prevention, conflict resolution, or de-escalation techniques. Preferred
  • Experience working with or training security officers Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Instructor certification (Crisis Prevention Institute) within 6 months Required
