VCF Systems Engineer (VMware Cloud Foundation) SME Moorestown, NJ (hybrid) Pay From: $75.00 per hour MUST: Experienced VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Systems Engineer Active Secret 10+ years professional experience 8+ years VMware systems level experience Navy, AEGIS systems highly desirable Strong hands on experience with Secure boot of guest (UEFI), PCI passthrough of GPU s, vCHA, NAS VMs, TPM 2.0, SAN, VM pinning to physical NUMA nodes, CPU Sizing VMware Cloud certifications highly desirable BS/MS Degree must have DUTIES: A VCF Systems Engineer assists in designing, deploying, and managing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), a full-stack, private cloud platform. They integrate computer (vSphere) storage (vSAN), and networking (NSX) using SDDC Manager to automate infrastructure. Enable Kubernetes and VM workloads, ensuring high availability, security, and automated lifecycle management. Secure boot of gues t - UEFI guest - PCI passthrough of GPU - PCI/USB passthrough of HID devices - review for improvements/best practice enhancements. Secure boot of host with TPM 2.0 upgraded TPM device and Beta bios to support on ATCA blade/chassis - review for improvements/best practice enhancements. vCHA improvements - review for improvements/best practice enhancements. Improve timekeeping in guest - requires analysis of whether PTP time syncing is possible Re-sizing vCenter - require help determining if changing the VCenter size would yield tangible benefits. Re-arch NAS VMs to use paravirtual SCSI with ESC terminated iSCSI connection from SAN instead of in-guest iSCSI termination - require help determining the benefits of this potential change. Rationalize VM pinning to physical NUMA nodes, CPU Sizing + VMWorld threads on NUMA boundaries - require a review of our solution for alignment to best practices.
