Position Overview

The Quality Control Supervisor assists the Quality Manager in ensuring facility follows the Quality Management System as prescribed in the latest version of ISO 9001 & BRC standards. Responsible for managing and maintaining HACCP plan, SOP's and requirements associated with Product Safety.


Responsibilities

CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) - Assists in leading the customer feedback process for the organization - Enter, monitor, and close out customer, internal and audit issues - Enter, monitor, and close out corrective and preventive actions - Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and investigate, recommend, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive actions - Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of nonconforming material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. - Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends - Implement new and revised procedures to strengthen the effectiveness of the Quality team meetings - Ensure issues with new items are resolved in a timely manner - Communicate key issues and actions from the new item meetings - Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of the trial process Technical Support - Provide technical support for initial orders of new items - Provide technical support on customer issues - Provide technical support for trials - Creates, coordinates, gets buy-in, communicates, executes and reports Quality Management System - Plans and directs activities concerned with Product Safety/HACCP - Supports in monitoring performance of quality management system to ensure effectiveness - Help with planning the internal quality audit process - Participate in the recertification and surveillance audits - Ensure procedures are established and implemented to meet the requirements of the ISO9000/ BRC Standard - Assist in reviewing and updating standard operating procedures or quality assurance manuals. - Provide support to other departments to improve the quality management system - Management rep in the Quality Manager's absence Training - Assists with the writing of training material & conducts training sessions on quality activities. Other - Supports all employees in the performance of their duties as per established procedures. - Facilitates meetings and monitors progress of special projects and related activities. - Responds to questionnaires from Customers' Surveys related to GBPI practices. - Supports Management Staff by participating in Customer Audits and Surveys on site. - Supports manufacturing in every way possible, to guarantee good quality products. - Monitors & ensures calibration of, Inspection, Measuring & Test Equipment.


Qualifications

The qualifications for Quality Control Supervisor are the ability to meet the requirements of the job with or without accommodation. The ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team

Education: BS Degree in an Engineering field, or equivalent experience. Desirable but not necessary, three years' experience in the Corrugated Manufacturing Environment. Must be able to interpret ISO/BRC Standards, HACCP procedures, Engineering Specifications, Drawings, and other written documents related to the Corrugated Industry. Must be able to make critical decisions to support customers. Must have practical knowledge of customer relation's protocol.

Experience: 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment, Quality control, preferably in a corrugated box plant. BRC/ISO and/or HACCP certified preferred. Computer Skills: Personal Computer, Microsoft Office Software Certificates & Licenses: BRC/ISO

Other Requirements: Able to communicate to all levels of the plant (management to operators). Must be able to communicate well with suppliers as well as customers. Physical demands: Standing, sitting, walking, push/pull, ability to lift/carry 10lbs-50lbs, but no more than 100lbs. Must be able to work in Plant environment: Noisy, dirt, dust, hot and cold temperatures. Must successfully pass Company pre-employment screening
