Pinyon is a company of opportunity About this Position Pinyon is seeking an entry level Air Quality Specialist that can support a variety of markets and projects that deal with air quality and permitting compliance for clients in various market sectors including oil and gas, commercial/industrial, transportation, and local/federal government. Essential Responsibilities Preparation of air permit applications for federal and state agencies. Development of emission inventories, including Microsoft Excel intermediate level formula use. Understanding of and familiarity with state and federal regulations and application of those regulations to specific client situations. Compliance recordkeeping and reporting based on permit conditions. Greenhouse gas and state inventory reporting. Dispersion modeling for comparison to National Ambient Air Quality Standards. Transportation conformity analyses, including conducting evaluations per DOT and FHWA protocols. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 0-3 years in Air Quality related professional services. Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, with an emphasis on Excel. Beneficial but not required knowledge of air quality regulations, emissions calculation methodologies, and air permitting. Preferred experience with review and interpretation of federal or state regulations. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have the ability to complete tasks and problem-solve without persistent oversight. Critical thinker that can work in a dynamic group environment. Exceptional communication skills, particularly with technical writing.
