About this Position
Pinyon is seeking an entry level Air Quality Specialist that can support a variety of markets and projects that deal with air quality and permitting compliance for clients in various market sectors including oil and gas, commercial/industrial, transportation, and local/federal government.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Preparation of air permit applications for federal and state agencies.
  • Development of emission inventories, including Microsoft Excel intermediate level formula use.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with state and federal regulations and application of those regulations to specific client situations.
  • Compliance recordkeeping and reporting based on permit conditions.
  • Greenhouse gas and state inventory reporting.
  • Dispersion modeling for comparison to National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
  • Transportation conformity analyses, including conducting evaluations per DOT and FHWA protocols.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 0-3 years in Air Quality related professional services.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Beneficial but not required knowledge of air quality regulations, emissions calculation methodologies, and air permitting.
  • Preferred experience with review and interpretation of federal or state regulations.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have the ability to complete tasks and problem-solve without persistent oversight.
  • Critical thinker that can work in a dynamic group environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly with technical writing.
