It all started in July 1993 when Lauren Evans, PE, created Pinyon Environmental Engineering Resources, Inc.
Pinyon began with a desk and a chair in the founder’s garage in Lakewood, Colorado. Lauren founded the company on the belief that consulting companies should provide quality services with a focus on each client’s individual needs and requirements. She passionately believes to this day that professional services should be delivered in a cost-efficient manner. It was her leadership that helped the organization embrace excellence at every level and pass it on to our clients by providing quality services. The company continues to be dedicated to these goals, making Pinyon Environmental, Inc. a well-respected environmental consulting firm that it is in the industry today.
Since 1993, Pinyon has been dedicated to providing environmental services to those who have a responsibility to be good environmental citizens. Our technical professionals, now numbering approximately 80, are some of the finest environmental scientists and engineers in the industry. Each is genuine in his or her desire to help clients achieve environmental compliance.
Our history has proven that our core beliefs and founding principles have kept the Pinyon mission on track to this very day, and will keep the company focused into many years to come.

Pinyon is a professional company working within an open communication model, a collaborative work environment, a low level of bureaucracy, and a diversity in project work that sets us apart from all other professional services companies. While excellence is our passion, the culture and atmosphere at Pinyon is driven by our desire to provide an environment that is conducive to not only high quality work and customer service, but also an environment of fun! Pinyon provides monthly brown bag training opportunities, sponsors good health and healthy competition for our staff, supports non-profit participation, holds monthly summer barbeques, and offers “Breakfast with the Boss” (an opportunity to chat with the President) several times a month. In addition, we are a dog friendly office!
