Utility Technician - JLL

What this job involves:

As a Utility Technician at JLL, you'll play an essential role in maintaining the safe, clean, and efficient operation of our client's industrial facility. You'll perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks including industrial machine cleaning, production waste management, light building repairs, and facility support operations. Working under general supervision, you'll ensure equipment is properly maintained, waste is handled in compliance with environmental standards, and inventory is managed to support Facilities, Maintenance, and Production teams. This hands-on role combines technical maintenance skills with operational support, contributing directly to workplace safety, environmental compliance, and seamless facility operations. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform industrial machine cleaning, pump-outs, honing, and filter changes on production equipment using floor scrubbers, industrial vacuums, and mobile equipment.
  • Manage production waste disposal including filters, chips, and recycling materials in compliance with environmental and safety procedures.
  • Execute light carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general building maintenance tasks to support facility upkeep and operational needs.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other mobile equipment safely to move materials, waste, and inventory supplies across multiple departments.
  • Support the Facility Manager with inventory management for parts and maintenance supplies while maintaining organized, clean work areas following workplace organization standards.
  • Preserve a safe work environment by utilizing PPE, following safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with facility standards and quality service expectations.
  • Provide responsive facility support and multitask effectively in a fast-paced industrial setting, maintaining professionalism under pressure.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, warehouse operations, or production support environments.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts and mobile equipment safely in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of facility safety standards, waste management procedures, and proper disposal protocols.
  • Ability to operate industrial cleaning and maintenance equipment including floor scrubbers and industrial vacuums.
  • Superior customer service skills with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Physical capability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25+ pounds; flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, and reach; and trunk strength to support repetitive body movements for extended periods while utilizing required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational training or certification in maintenance, facilities management, or industrial operations.
  • Current forklift/fork truck certification and operating experience.
  • Experience handling industrial cleaning chemicals and following safety procedures for hazardous materials.
  • Basic proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production facility environments with knowledge of OSHA safety standards and workplace regulations.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or procedures for tracking parts and supplies.
  • Experience with waste management compliance, environmental procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, or independent work experience in facilities support roles.

Work Shift: To be discussed during interview process

Salary/Comp: $22.00 USD Hourly
