Overview

Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure platforms for delivering applications. Build and manage scalable, reliable, and reusable platforms, tools, and environments for application development, deployment, and operations. Perform work associated with IT infrastructure and systems administration to include installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of IT software and hardware systems, IT data/voice network systems, and internal databases. Develop information technology strategies, policies, and plans. Ensure performance and resource availability of computers and other IT systems. Work under minimal supervision and use complete understanding of business needs and objectives to support projects that have an impact on the achievement of operational goals. Demonstrate advanced skill sets and proficiency with procedures and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze moderately complex to complex data, develop technical conclusions, and evaluate potential applicability of recommendations.
  • Conceive, plan, and research final technology solutions/products to guide development to fruition.
  • Develop, code, test, debug, and document moderately complex to complex platforms to achieve planned objectives.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of databases.
  • Match organizational resources with client needs, monitor network performance, identify and resolve network problems.
  • Analyze, design, implement, operate, deploy, and support information technology resources (including computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications, data processing and security).
  • Troubleshoot problems and communicate status, findings and/or technical results; make recommendations and ensure implementation of compliance and communication protocols.
  • Upgrade network hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Build working relationships with team members and subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate across functions to align platform strategies with organizational goals.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure that supports application development (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
  • Provide frameworks, libraries, and tools to standardize development and operations.
  • Manage cloud services, container orchestration, and virtualization.
  • Optimize platform reliability, scalability, and automation.
  • Enable developers to focus on building applications by abstracting complexities.
  • Lead small projects and initiatives.
  • Mentor lower-level staff.
  • Administer and optimize the Microsoft 365 tenant, including identity-integrated service configuration, capacity planning, and ongoing platform health monitoring.
  • Manage SharePoint Online (sites, hubs, permissions, sharing, and lifecycle), including information architecture, search, and operational governance.
  • Manage Microsoft Teams, ensuring secure collaboration and consistent user experience.
  • Administer OneDrive for Business, including storage controls, sharing settings, known folder moves, and synchronization support.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities (information protection, sensitivity labels, retention, eDiscovery support, audit, and data loss prevention) to meet compliance requirements.
  • Define and enforce M365 governance standards (naming, provisioning, guest access, sharing, retention, and lifecycle management) and document policies, controls, and operating procedures.
  • Monitor service health, message center, and usage telemetry; manage incidents, problems, and changes; and coordinate releases and communications for M365 service updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in function.
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of business area/specialization.
  • Experience with software and platform engineering concepts and methodologies and current development of languages and methods.
  • Advanced skill involving technical applications/languages, information technology or specialized engineering methods.
  • Experience with Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Cloud Engineering (AWS, Azure, GCP) .
  • Advanced skill in scripting languages for automation tasks (Python, Bash, PowerShell, HTML, XML) .
  • Experience with configuration management tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools.

Desired Qualifications

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900) or equivalent baseline knowledge.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102) and/or role-based certifications such as Teams Administrator (MS-700) or collaboration-focused equivalents.
  • Hands-on experience administering SharePoint Online and OneDrive (site provisioning, permissions, sharing/external access, lifecycle management, search, and information architecture).
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams administration (meeting/messaging policies, app governance, Teams lifecycle, and adoption/change management).
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview (sensitivity labels, retention, DLP, eDiscovery, and audit) and translating compliance requirements into technical controls.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness and governance (content permissions, labeling strategy, DLP, and responsible AI/compliance considerations).
  • Working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, MFA, and identity-driven security patterns used across Microsoft 365.
  • Experience building and operating M365 governance (naming standards, provisioning, guest access, sharing controls, retention/lifecycle, and operating procedures).
  • Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for administration, reporting, and policy enforcement.
  • Operational excellence mindset: experience with incident/change/problem management (ITIL concepts), service health monitoring, and stakeholder communications.
