The Johns Hopkins Hospital Meyer 6 Geriatric Psychiatry/Pain Treatment Unit provides specialized care for medically complex geriatric patients with severe mood and neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as individuals with intractable pain conditions. This unique unit includes 9 geriatric psychiatry beds, 11 pain treatment beds, and two partial hospitalization programs serving as step-down services. Nurses deliver comprehensive care focused on symptom management, psychological support, and improving physical functioning in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The Lead Clinical Nurse (RN) provides guidance and direction to staff and acts in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager to oversee a clinical team during care delivery and unit operations.
