Work Schedule:
100% FTE, day shift. Monday - Friday. Hours may be flexible. No weekends or holidays. Will be needed for emergency response outside of working hours and occasional early or late equipment installs. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Security Systems Technician to:

  • Manage the implementation, operation, and functionality of surveillance cameras. You will monitor devices for performance, scan for vulnerabilities, select appropriate devices, and coordinate the installation and replacement of devices.
  • Collaborate with HR-Employee Relations for employment investigations. Coordinate with Legal, Risk Management, and process video requests from law enforcement to assist with criminal investigations.
  • Assist with obtaining and creating project proposals for the purchase of surveillance cameras for capital or operational investment.
  • Work closely with Information Services (IS) for support of device activation, connection, troubleshooting, and the operational needs and maintenance of the servers that support the surveillance camera recordings.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Required
  • Associates degree/post-high school training in an Information Technology. Preferred

Work Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience in the installation and maintenance of video surveillance devices and video management systems. Required
  • Three (3) years of experience in the installation and maintenance of video surveillance devices and video management systems. Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license issued by the individual's state of residence. Required
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Personal Vehicle, Patient/Visitor Vehicle, or standard UW Health Fleet Vehicle. Required
  • Ability to be insured by UW Health's risk management insurer, which requires
    • (1) a valid Wisconsin driver's license and
    • (2) successfully passing a driving background check
