The Assistant Director of Patient Safety and Quality will promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. The Assistant Director will support the development and execution of the hospital's operating plan, particularly the quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) plans, as well as organizational improvement initiatives. The Assistant Director will engage staff and leaders from across the organization to deploy operating and QAPI plans and track key outcomes and results, particularly those complementing quality improvement initiatives. The Assistant Director will support the senior director in leading the hospital Patient Safety and Quality team in providing support for organizational strategic and operational improvement initiatives, including quality and event management.

Key Responsibilities



  • Partner with leadership to identify and implement quality, patient safety, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute strategies that drive continuous quality improvement and organizational performance.
  • Collaborate with the Performance Excellence team to support enterprise-wide improvement efforts.
  • Lead and support cross-functional quality improvement projects, ensuring teams have the resources needed for success.
  • Monitor project progress, track performance metrics, and report outcomes to leadership.
  • Develop and deliver education and training to build process improvement and performance excellence capabilities.
  • Supervise and mentor the Patient Safety and Quality team.
  • Identify and implement industry best practices to enhance quality, safety, and operational effectiveness.
  • Communicate the progress and results of quality initiatives and recognize team achievements.


Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required.

Work Experience:



  • Minimum of five years progressively more responsible operational and management experience in a health care setting (preferably within a health system). Master's degree may be substituted for work experience.
  • Knowledge of business operations and proficiency with project management and performance improvement methodologies


Salary Range: Minimum 57.56/hour - Maximum 89.22/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
