Shopper & Category Insights Analyst, Easton, PA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Serves as the analytical engine of the Commercial Voice, responsible for gathering, integrating, and analyzing shopper, category, and customer data to identify growth opportunities and inform customer-specific recommendations. This role combines data analytics with customer merchandising and planogram development, translating insights into actionable assortment, shelf, and category solutions that drive retailer performance. The Analyst supports category strategies, customer selling initiatives, and retail execution through fact-based analysis, planogram optimization, and performance measurement. While accountable for delivering accurate and actionable outputs, the role does not own enterprise-level storytelling or strategic narrative development.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Data Integration & Analysis



  • Collect, integrate, and harmonize data across syndicated sources, retailer POS, shopper metrics, and internal systems.
  • Analyze data to identify category trends, performance drivers, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop structured, data-driven insights to support decision-making


Customer Insight Development



  • Translate analysis into tactical, customer-specific recommendations aligned with category strategies
  • Provide clear outputs to support retailer engagement and selling materials
  • Ensure insights are grounded in data and aligned to shopper behavior


Planogram & Merchandising Support



  • Develop planograms and merchandising recommendations aligned to shopper insights and category priorities
  • Support assortment optimization and shelf productivity initiatives


Execution Measurement & Reporting



  • Track and assess the effectiveness of merchandising and promotional programs
  • Maintain dashboards and recurring reporting cadences
  • Support seasonal reporting (e.g., BTS, Holiday, readiness, promotional analysis)


Shopper Research Support



  • Assist in the development, fielding, and initial analysis of custom shopper research
  • Translate research findings into usable outputs for category and customer teams



Seasonal & Business Planning Support



  • Support key business rhythms including war rooms, readiness tours, and promotional recaps
  • Deliver timely insights to inform planning cycles and execution reviews


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • BA or BS in business, marketing, analytics or related field, (MBA preferred).
  • 2-4 years of experience in CPG, category management, shopper insights, or analytics
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret POS, syndicated, and shopper data
  • Working knowledge of key CPG data sources (Circana, Numerator, retailer portals, etc.)
  • Ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with planogram tools (e.g., Blue Yonder/JDA)
