Overview

As an Ecological Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., in our St. Charles, MO office, you will grow and manage project teams to navigate today's complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, institutional, and energy clients achieve and maintain environmental and ecological compliance. You'll supervise staff ecologists and lead projects. Working with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, you will impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process and construction.

CEC's corporate Ecological Practice accounts for more than 15% of our annual revenues, making it an essential part of the integrated services that we offer to our clients. CEC's Ecological Practice distinguishes itself from the service offerings of other firms because of the breadth of our technical expertise that includes wetland and stream assessments, delineations, and mitigation; endangered species surveys including bats and plants; natural stream channel restoration; bio-retention and wetland treatment systems; environmental planning (NEPA); and ecological risk assessments. The corporate practice group works cooperatively across all CEC offices to bring the necessary ecological expertise to our clients' specific project needs.



Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Biology, or related technical field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: wetland and stream delineation, threatened and endangered species consultation, and/or environmental permitting and reporting
  • Demonstrated understanding of State and Federal regulations from agencies such as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
  • Knowledge of Section 401, 402, and 404 Clean Water Act Regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide technical expertise and mentoring to staff in the ecological practice
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple project needs
  • Demonstrated client development and management experience to assist in expanding the delivery of our services to the energy, solid waste, mining, public sector, and real estate markets
