Description: What you'll be doing Another Source's client, The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), is recruiting a Building Envelope Architect/Engineer to join their team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position is hybrid eligible, with the opportunity to work remotely one day per week with supervisor approval. Relocation assistance is available for discussion. Here's a little about UNC Charlotte: UNC Charlotte's Facilities Management team is responsible for creating and sustaining the physical environment that supports the University's students, faculty, staff, research, and broader community. From planning and building to operating and maintaining campus facilities, the team takes a long-term view of how spaces perform and how they contribute to the University experience. This newly created position offers the opportunity to become a key technical resource within Facilities Management, helping UNC Charlotte connect smart design decisions with long-term building performance and maintainability. You'll have the chance to influence standards and projects across the campus while working alongside architects, engineers, external design partners, project teams, and the skilled trades professionals who know these facilities firsthand. Your scope will span building enclosures-including roofs, walls, glazing, air barriers, and moisture management-as well as interior architectural finishes and vertical transportation systems. As a new position, this is an opportunity to help shape how UNC Charlotte approaches total building performance. You'll bridge the gap between design and operations, bringing a lifecycle perspective to projects and helping ensure new construction and renovations are durable, maintainable, code compliant, and designed for the realities of North Carolina's humid subtropical climate. This is a hands-on "bridge" role for someone who is equally comfortable reviewing design documents with architects and engineers and walking rooftops, mechanical spaces, and active project sites alongside skilled trade technicians. Your Contribution Will Likely Include Serve as the University's technical authority for building enclosure systems, interior architectural finishes, and vertical transportation systems.
