Description
Position Overview

This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across all divisional manufacturing processes. This role works closely with the CI Lead and leadership to identify opportunities, implement process improvements, and support operational efficiency. This position also contributes to training, documentation, and strategic planning efforts to enhance overall performance. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities




    • Perform daily activities in compliance with divisional safety requirements and always puts Safety First
    • Ensures that all process changes will lead to a safer work environment
    • Coordinate and support continuous improvement efforts across all Operations
    • Engages crews in activities to streamline daily processes
    • Works with all crews to strive for maximum efficiencies in machine production, set-up times, and run speeds
    • Monitors machine run efficiencies and addresses issues that are hindering goal attainment
    • Provide basic machine assessment for state of equipment - help create standard operating procedures, TPM activities, and cleans up documentation when needed
    • Facilitate various projects throughout the facility to improve safety, quality, efficiency, yield metrics and team-based improvement initiatives
    • Maintain reporting of continuous improvement initiatives and results
    • Maintain metrics and keep division informed of activities and accomplishments
    • Perform additional duties as assigned



    Shared CI responsibilities (with CI lead):



    • Works with all departments at the division to develop standard operating procedures, document workflow and process steps
    • Acts as a problem solver for production crews in times of need
    • Resource for production, scheduling and technical group to drive improvements resulting in increased through put, improved quality, and higher yield
    • Responsible for working directly with divisional leadership to ensure that continuous improvement goals are achieved
    • Use effective change management strategies to successfully implement new processes and procedures within the divisions team-based work culture
    • Provide support for the division's food safety program and certification
    • Works with Maintenance Department staff to deliver predictable and reliable equipment performance
    • Will notify the Production Supervisor Team of the need to coach or discipline employees when encountering employees acting in an unsafe manner




Qualifications



  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, are required
  • Ability to organize information from multiple sources and develop plans for continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to drive change
  • Previous experience in a box plant, printing operation, converting operation or paper mill is preferred
  • Must be able to improve working conditions such as safety, quality and productivity.
  • Ability to problem solve, handle multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • An Associate's degree is preferred
  • Experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing is preferred
  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office 365
