Position Summary
The Clamp Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a powered industrial clamp truck to transport, store, load, unload, and stage paper rolls, finished goods, and other materials throughout the facility. The operator ensures materials are handled without damage while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Operate clamp trucks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.


  • Move paper rolls, corrugated sheets, finished products, and raw materials to designated locations.


  • Load and unload trailers, railcars, and warehouse storage areas.


  • Perform pre-shift inspections and complete equipment checklists.


  • Inspect loads for damage and report discrepancies immediately.


  • Ensure proper clamp pressure and handling techniques are used to prevent product damage.


  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and facility policies.


  • Maintain accurate inventory movements using scanners.


  • Assist with warehouse organization and housekeeping activities.


  • Support production by supplying materials to equipment and removing finished goods.


  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and production personnel.


  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and operational issues promptly.


  • Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.


  • Turn in roll stock tallies to the corrugator supervisor or Scheduling Department.


  • Responsible for correct reporting of time, production, and material usage.


  • Assists crew in startup, running, changing over, and cleaning up the machine.


  • Other job tasks and projects as assigned.



Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous clamp truck, forklift, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
  • Frequent twisting, reaching, and visual inspection of loads.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments.

  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.

  • Safe operation of clamp trucks and forklifts.
  • Understanding of paper roll handling and damage prevention.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
