Patent Prosecution Associate (Computer Science/Software Engineering)

Lewis Roca seeks to hire an associate-level candidate with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering as well as a juris doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school The ideal candidate should have 2-6 years' of law firm patent prosecution experience; prior industry experience is a plus but not necessarily required.

Responsibilities include: preparing and prosecuting patent applications filed with the USPTO and foreign patent offices, counseling clients on comprehensive IP strategy, prior art analysis, and IP portfolio management. Experience with foreign patent applications is a plus. Must be admitted before the US Patent & Trademark Office. The successful candidate could also find a home in our Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix or Silicon Valley office. Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (AZ, CA, CO, NV) is required.

This position may be filled in one of our Colorado offices and in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay Act, the compensation for this position is between $173,000 - 198,500. Actual compensation can vary and may be above or below the range based on qualifications and experience. The salary range for other firm locations will align with market rates.
