Packaging Designer

This role works within a team environment in structural packaging design. This includes the creation and modification structure to meet customers' needs within the manufacturing capabilities. Role may also include sales support of presentations of designs, customer audits, and problem solving at local customer location.

Determines size, material, and palletization options using TOPS or CAPE software.
• Creates designs, concepts, and prototype sample layouts to meet customer requests/requirements using Artios CAD.
• Cuts prototype samples using a Kongsberg cutting table.
• Maintain daily communication as required with Account Managers and/or Customer Service Representatives on design requests and/or other design projects.
• Develop knowledge and skills in corrugated packaging and graphics.
• Create specs for approval that meet both customer and production requirements.
• Maintains and updates on-line sample request form for design project status and due date requirements in the Design Department.
• Quote, ordering, and checking in tooling for production use.
• Provides support to internal departments such as Customer Service, Estimating, production, etc.

• A degree in Packaging Design, Graphic Design or related experience.
• Skills in aiding customers by answering questions and assisting them through the design process to meet their needs.
• Skills in using MS software applications, CAD perferably artios CAD.
• Ability to work well with customers, other staff members, being creative, and clear communications with customers and staff.
• Strong math skills including working with fractions and decimal point equivalents.
