2nd Shift Material Handler
Position Overview The Green Bay Packaging - Baird Display Division is an industry-leading manufacturer of high-quality, temporary, point of purchase displays. Material Handler Responsibilities Material handler responsibilities are to load and unload machines with products. Move inventory around the plant safely. Read instructions from the current job ticket. Respect and conform to all accepted safe work practices and standards. Attend ongoing in-house quality, education classes. Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and keep equipment and work area clean and orderly. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Set an example to co-workers by always practicing safe work habits. Assure work areas are free from hazards that could cause injury or accidents. Report any unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will be sitting for the majority of the day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot and/or humid conditions. Division Description The Baird Display Division creates unique and high-impact temporary and semi-permanent point of purchase displays, merchandisers, and signage that converts interest into action and helps brands stand out from the crowd. |
