Process Control Engineer
Position Overview The Process Control Engineer position reports to the Process Control Manager for the Arkansas Kraft Division. This person will be responsible for day to day maintenance, new project implementation and system reliability for all mill automation systems which include Foxboro DCS, ABB QCS and Allen Bradley PLC's. Responsibilities A steadfast commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. Support of automation data collection and reporting systems, network systems, and automation system security. Beyond making day-to-day enhancements, the incumbent will stay abreast of new technologies and help maintain a vision to support the strategy of being the leader in our business. This includes avoiding equipment obsolescence while prudently managing equipment costs. Developing and using participative management skills, such as safety preventative measures, incident investigation and RCFA. The Arkansas Kraft Division maintenance training program produces competent technical craftspeople who welcome opportunities to expand their skills to become proficient in more advanced control strategies and systems. The Process Control Engineer will always leverage the support infrastructure and encourage involvement. Occasionally, the incumbent may be asked to train others in a classroom. Qualifications An undergraduate degree in engineering is preferred, experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. The Process Control Engineer should have 5 years of recent experience working in a large industrial environment, preferably an integrated paper mill. Superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver and reinforce consistent messages at all levels Has the ability to effectively work with various operating groups meeting their needs while always focusing on the overall improvement of a solid operational system. Serve as a resource that removes barriers and helps our front-line employees excel in all aspects of process improvement and variation reduction.
