Position Summary:

Performs maintenance, installation and repair work on electrical equipment, systems and components. This work is performed under general supervision and using the tools and techniques of electrical technology.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program which is approved/accepted by local or state government.

Licensure/Certification:

Journeyman Electrician Certificate

Required Work Experience:

4 years related work experience as obtained in an apprenticeship program under the supervision of a Master Electrician

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:




  • Knowledge of electrical techniques, codes, procedures and materials.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.
  • Applies electrical and safety knowledge indicated herein.
  • Safely uses tools and equipment indicated herein.
  • Possesses the ability to solve problems and manage information indicated herein.
  • Requires proficient written and verbal English communication skills, at least on an high school graduate level, to interact with departmental/JHM staff.
  • Identifies and avoids hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights and other warning devices.
  • Performs work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry or engineered standards.
