$97,900-142,000 Reston, VA Schedule: M-F 6:30-3:30 + weekends and holidays as needed This role is the chief engineer supporting all facilities for the client that are located in Virginia with responsibility for the operational management and effective daily leadership and administration of the engineering team with the objectives of safely, efficiently, and effectively operating machinery and systems in a cost-effective manner. Responsible for protecting and improving the value of the client's assets and ensuring that building engineering systems continue to perform their intended function. The Chief Engineer will implement and manage the reliability-based maintenance function. The incumbent also executes equipment inspection and monitoring programs; defines and implements maintenance best practices to improve overall mechanical equipment uptime; and continuously evaluates current maintenance, operations and reliability methods and implements changes to enhance effectiveness at increasing value-maximizing performance. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems where engineering direct support is present within the portfolio located with Virginia Provide support to the FM team related to FLS/ MPE for all facilities within the Portfolio located in Virginia Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching, and personal development Perform various PMs as needed and provide hands-on support as needed. Participate regularly in client-facing and property team communications Participate in overall operating budget process Assist in the development of a capital and expense improvement plan Schedule, supervise, and direct contractors, monitor and document performance Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls Lead and organize ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs and procedures Makes weekly tours of the interior and exterior of the buildings and documents findings on a Building Inspection. CMMS and BAS management Emulate a safety-first culture Risk assessment and mitigation Performance of ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems, equipment, and components Utilizes CMMS work order system to manage the timely completion of all preventative and corrective maintenance assignments. Provide support for Operations and Engineering leadership and team members to ensure work orders and preventive maintenance tasks are completed in compliance with Service Level Agreements and site / client-specific Key Performance Indicators. Lead and share knowledge of HVAC, electric, plumbing, and other skills with team members to grow their skills. Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required. Monitor BAS systems, respond to alarms, and diagnose resolution Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment including but not limited to refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, chillers, water cooling towers, etc. Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing components including restroom fixtures, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, sump pumps, etc Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical components including all types of lamp replacement, ballast replacement, fixtures, motors, basic diagram components, comprehend basic wiring components, etc Inspects various damaged surfaces (e.g., plaster, drywall, water-damaged areas, ceiling, and wall cracks) for repairs Ensures completion of special tasks that include painting, pressure washing, tenant services requests, special cleaning, and general maintenance as required Perform assigned facility rounds and due diligence efforts by being proactive; reporting on conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations; entering work orders for resolution. Identify cost saving measures that contribute to a reduction in operating cost without a reduction in service or the client experience. Provide best-in-class customer services to all Tenants and Agencies, ensuring work performed is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them. Complies with JLL policy for procurement of facilities services and goods Participation in the JLL JCAP program, submitting facilities within the assigned territory Participates in all team meetings and trainings Responsible for keeping records of building rounds and readings, refrigerant logs, engineering data sheets, developing JSA, OSHA regulations and Jones Lang LaSalle Team Safety Policies Other duties as requested by engineering leadership, property management team and/or client WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or similar People management experience (leading a team) Trade school education, union training, military service, or college is desirable Universal CFC EPA certification Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfort using ladders Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive Strong customer service and communication skills Must have the ability to always maintain professionalism under stressful situations. Must be able to work on highly complex problems in a variety of situations where analysis is required. Solve problems using considerable and rational judgement, leading to routine and specific recommendations. Must be able to participate in an On-Call rotation to include holidays and weekends. Experience with secure facilities and the ability to maintain a secret clearance *as required* Must have and maintain a valid Virginia Driver's License. |
