Position: HVAC Technician

JLL is looking for a skilled HVAC technician to join our team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems. Working Schedule:
2nd shift from Monday through Friday (2pm - 10pm)
Overview:
As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and resolving HVAC system issues in a medical facility to ensure efficient operation. Your expertise in safety protocols, along with troubleshooting and resolving humidifier and humidity control problems, will be essential. Your familiarity with chill water, glycol water, and hot water plumbing systems will also be put to good use. We count on you to identify faulty actuators and take necessary steps to remedy issues, as well as clean VAV strainers and work on VAV boxes.

Responsibilities:
Your key duties will include:
Accurately documenting repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment inventories.
Troubleshooting and repairing electric and electronic controls and equipment, always adhering to specifications and codes.
Diagnosing HVAC electrical components on various systems, such as chillers, rooftops, and fan units.
Conducting preventative maintenance, including cleaning strainers, steam traps, and coils.
Identifying potential leaks, developing repair plans, and replacing damaged insulation.
Utilizing physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
Demonstrating flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and handling emergency situations when required.
Completing any other duties and tasks assigned.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you should have:
High School diploma or GED.
Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
CFC certification.
Knowledge of motor/pump alignment and the ability to verify it.
Proficiency in pneumatic controls, instruments, and automatic dampers.
Understanding of air flows and air balancing in large institutions.
Familiarity with large compressors and the correlation between pressure and temperature variances.
Knowledge of water and steam systems.
Skills in air compressor functions and repairs.
Background in refrigeration, including refrigerant system recovery, charging, and diagnostics.
Ability to diagnose and repair rooftop air handlers and chiller units.
Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and the ability to diagnose BAS issues.
Experience in operating, repairing, and maintaining heat exchangers.
Must have or be working towards a Stationary Engineer License.
Must be willing to join or already be a member of the union 'Local 399'.

Skills:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and instructions to successfully complete work assignments.
Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations related to the HVAC trade.
Proficiency in using computers and working with DDC systems and BAS controls.
Tools:
You must have your own complete set of hand tools necessary for the trade.
