The R.E. Michel Company was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1935 as a supplier to the home heating oil burner industry. Still family owned and operated, we have grown to be one of our nation's leading wholesale distributors of HVACR and LP equipment, parts and supplies.
The principles that we hold high are the same that Robert E. Michel embraced when he founded the business -quality products at a fair price with a devotion to customer service. We continue to grow and improve because our customers believe that we will always do our very best to help make them more successful. Customers, employees and the vendors that manufacture the products we sell are all part of the family, the R.E. Michel Company family since 1935.
We have more than 300 locations coast to coast. Our conveniently located branches carry an extensive inventory that meets the needs of its own market and its own customers. When a customer wants us to carry a certain product in our local branch inventory they just ask us, and we'll get it for them because our goal is to take the guesswork out of the supply business so that our customers find what they when they need it. Doing business should be made easy for the customer and, at R.E. Michel, it is.
Local inventory is backed by a $60 million network of branch inventories and our 900,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center inventory in Maryland. Linked by our state-of-the-art computer system, we can locate that special need and have it for a customer in no time.
Our people are our greatest asset. From our local branch associates and field salespeople to our corporate support staff, they represent the finest professionals in the industry. There is no substitute for experience, and with many of our key people with 10, 20, and more years of service, we are in a position to deliver excellence when it comes to assisting and serving our customers.
Product Selection
20,000 catalog line items. Our 1,300-page catalog provides the sales and technical information customers are looking for, Innovative inventory management programs, EDI, and a full array of customer services.
OUR MISSION
With more than 300 branch sales locations nationwide, we make convenient customer access to the R.E. Michel Company a reality, not a slogan. Our business hours are established by the general needs of the particular market, not by a corporate policy, and customers will find us available to serve them on Saturday as well.
The single most important element of our customer service package is our people; experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the spirit of providing the highest level of service to our customers.
To save customers valuable time, our branch self-service areas put the most popular product in front of the sales counter. Customers are checked out fast, too, and assured of accurate pricing no matter which branch location they visit or order from.
Every market where we do business is unique, and each of our branches carries inventory that meets the needs of its particular market and its own customers. Our goal is to take the guesswork out of the supply business so customers will have what they need when they need it.
It's not a problem for us to deliver an order to a customer. We can deliver to the customer’s business or, in case of heating and cooling system installations, directly to the job site.
Many of our branches have training facilities on site. Our full-time training staff provides the educational programs locally that customers need to be successful in their marketplace. In concert with the best of our manufacturers' instructors, we offer a wide range of product and technical training.
